Not to be confused with <a href=\"https:\/\/www.falkirkvanhire.com\/articles\/mam-weight-maximum-authorised-mass-explained\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">MAM Weight<\/a>, here are some examples of the most popular vans on the road today capable of towing heavy trailers.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Volkswagen <strong>Transporter&nbsp;26 1.9TDI&nbsp;<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>Unladen\/Dry Weight: 1,798kg<\/li><li>Payload Capacity: 802kg<\/li><li>GVW (Dry + Payload): 2,600kg<\/li><li>Trailer Gross Weight (unbraked): 750kg.<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>The maximum GTW of a Volkswagen Transporter&nbsp;26 1.9TDI towing a trailer with a full load is 3,350kg.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Vauxhall Movano SWB L\/Roof<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>Unladen\/Dry Weight: 1,880kg<\/li><li>Payload Capacity: 920kg<\/li><li>GVW (Dry + Payload): 2,800kg<\/li><li>Trailer Gross Weight (unbraked): 750kg.<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>The maximum GTW of a Vauxhall Movano SWB L\/Roof towing a trailer with a full load is 3,550kg.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Renault Trafic&nbsp;SL 29 2.0dCi 115<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>Unladen\/Dry Weight: 1,688kg<\/li><li>Payload Capacity: 1,247kg<\/li><li>GVW (Dry + Payload): 2,935kg<\/li><li>Trailer Gross Weight (unbraked): 750kg.<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>The maximum GTW of a Trafic&nbsp;SL 29 2.0dCi 115 towing a trailer with a full load is 3,685kg.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Mercedes <strong>Sprinter&nbsp;309 CDI MWB High Roof<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>Unladen\/Dry Weight: 2,115kg<\/li><li>Payload Capacity: 1.455kg<\/li><li>GVW (Dry + Payload): 3,500kg<\/li><li>Trailer Gross Weight (unbraked): 750kg.<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>The maximum GTW of a Mercedes Sprinter&nbsp;309 CDI MWB High Roof towing a trailer with a full load is 4,250kg.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Vehicle Gross Weight + Trailer Gross Weight = GTW Weight<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<hr>\n\n\n\n<p>Gross Train Weight applies to all vehicles towing a trailer on UK roads.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Always check the VIN plate of the vehicle you&#8217;re driving. The vehicle VIN plate will display how much that vehicle weighs and how much you&#8217;re allowed to carry safely (payload capacity). <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>It will also let you know how much you&#8217;re legally allowed to tow in KG.
